I have a 2012 Fat Boy Lo with stock exhaust and Rush 1.75 slip ons. When I put another set of Rush 1.75's on my old Dyna Fat Bob, I got a really good low rpm rumble and a nice sound in higher gears. On the Fat Boy, I don't get nearly the same sound - just slightly better than the stock muffler.
So, my question is - I'll be getting the stage 1 upgrade, but not until next year, so is there anything I can do to get a better sound and rumble with just the 1.75 slip on's without losing a lot of performance or damaging my system? Thanks!
Your cats are in the pipe where the dyna's are in the muffler (which the slip ons replace) Only thing you can do is decat it if your not ready for a full exhaust. Do a search on here and you will see how
Take the baffles out and put some Thunder Torque Inserts in. Will be louder and you will have better low and mid range power and the same top end power.
I am running rush slip ons in my 2011 103 with no baffles and the W258's. Butt dyno is better and dynojet dyno is about 8% better with the thunder torques than with the baffles...and it is LOUDER!
