Btw Kelly bb states the trade in value at $9100 and I doubt they gave that as trade in value to the last owner and I'm sure they didn't give that at auction so if they let you walk out the door with it at 11.5 after fees etc they still pocket 2k on it I'd let em know that, you know that, as well.
I know they're in business to make a profit and they don't make squat by not moving inventory so play up the profit that you already know they at least have in it plus the fact that the current seat is basically a downgrade from the factory and that the "mods" it does have are nothing substantial and see if that gets you closer to where your comfortable
IMHO the only regret ul have with an fxstc is the price u wind up paying if you feel you paid too much
All in all it's my favorite bike and I've owned several and ridden even more and the only "upgrade" I'll ever see is when the OL and I get older well get a bagger for the really long hauls but I don't see myself ever getting rid of our fxstc!
Yea, I told them that retail was about $12,300 and that trade in was about $9100. But I have a feeling they bought this at an auction so they probably even paid less than trade in (like you said).
I just emailed him and said basically I would do $11,997 out the door and I am sticking too it. Told him about the seat and me having to switch it out and all that. Its certainly a clean bike but I am in no hurry.
I don't see how they could have $1500 into servicing a bike with less than 5k miles?
Yep, are they giving you a 6 month or 1 year warranty. They may have changed the oil, but at that many miles I bet they cleaned her up and put her on the floor. Last used bike I got from the dealer I paid like $500 for prep, they didn't even change the oils. I think all I got for my $500 was a wash.

That's crazy. lol
I am sure this place did the same thing. It wasn't exactly clean, had a little dust on it so they may have bought it at auction and then just put her right on the floor. ha!
So was your $500 wash job really nice? lol Did they at least wax it?
At $11,997 out the door, it is a little high still but the bike is very clean and its not high enough that I feel I got ripped off. Its fair.

It was a pretty nice wash , the thing was covered in dust when I pointed it out to the salesman (couldn't tell the difference between a Dyna and a Softail or a Twinkie and an Evo). It's the one in my sig.

Yep, that's a fair deal. FXSTC is one of the nicest out there. You can pick up the oem seat for under $100 but you need the sissybar $100. Can't mount without both. Or go with a detachable set up.

Good luck!
Wow...oem seat for $100..nice! I will have to find out where if this deal goes through. I think I would like the detachable set up.
Yep patience and leg work are the key if they don't come down to where ur comfortable say hey thanks but no thanks the right bike will come along at the right price eventually
Are there any fxstc in your area you can compare prices on and mayb use as leverage with this dealer?

Not a custom but dont see getting rid of mine either!

No...thats the problem ... there are none around here to compare it to. I offered $11997 out the door and its fair to me (and to all of u that own them) so if they say no I walk away and wait for the next one.
Ask them what they did for $1500 in service? Since its not at 5k miles yet, but close, did they do the 5k service?? Did it have it's 1k service? What if anything besides clean it up have they done to justify what theyre asking? 6 mo warranty? 1 year?
Did you check the engine and Trans oil yourself to see if it looks clean? How do the brake pads look? Is there meat left on them? Should be alot left if the mileage is correct and they didn't switch them out.
How does the belt look? Clean and in good shape? No noticeable nicks or rock holes in it?
How about tire tread??
These are all things you can hit them with to help give you some leverage to get the price where you want it
Nothing like paying a little more than your comfortable with and then finding out you need to change all your fluids or your brake pads
Idk whether you do your own wrenching or not but if not the $ are gonna add up if you need to get all this done a few days/weeks after purchase

Well, I havent had a chance to ask them anything else because after my final $11997 offer they have gone silent. lol Oh well, off to find the next one... I am informed now for sure thanks to you guys!
