What do you think is reasonable for that bike with whats on it?
I do think bikes are overpriced here.
He's a grand over KBB, not uncommon for a dealer. If he would do $11.5-12k out the door, maybe. BTW there is not much added to it, FXSTC comes all chromed out. From what I see it has add on pipes that are worth $50.
Oh and 1 last thing that may or may not matter to you but if the rear wheel is stock and it appears to be in the picture it is polished aluminum and if you're willing to put the effort in you can polish it up to an almost chrome like finish but if you not big on taking time to clean and polish it before long it will start to look pretty bad just something to consider when you figure the cost of ownership
Me I don't mind taking the time to polish my rear wheel but some folks don't want to put that kind of effort into cleaning aluminum
To be honest I know nothing about the seat that's on there but it doesnt look so good or comfy (just my opinion) and the original factory seat w/ sissy bar being very comfy both solo and 2up And very good looking too boot (again just my opinion) I wouldn't say 11-11.5 Pre taxes I'd say that as total ride it home price.
Again this is all strictly one guys opinion. The fxstc is a great bike that looks great and rides great and can be modded to be whatever u want. I run it with saddlebags, fender bag and windshield for cruising and by taking off 4 bolts I can strip it down and it's a hot looking bar hopper but like FX stated the mods that it has already are no high $ mods and in my opinion not having the factory seat would lower the value of it not increase it, but again just my 2 cents
Thanks for the reply!
They just got back to me and they are saying $11,997 is the lowest they can go...then plus taxes and so forth. He says they have to charge a little more be because of them servicing it and all that and they stand behind what they sell. That is probably worth something for someone that doesnt know a ton about Harleys but is it worth about $1500? Hmmmmmm... not sure. I thought about countering at 13k out the door...which means the bike would be about 11,700 but I still feel that may be high.

I don't see how they could have $1500 into servicing a bike with less than 5k miles?
Have you ran a vin check through your insurance company to be sure it has never been wrecked?
You could counter with that 11997 as your walking out the door price meaning thats your total payout after taxes doc fees title etc
But personally I'd still feel better at 11.5 total cost
I got mine 3 years ago with only 1054 miles with the correct seat for $13.5 in total walking out the door cost but then again cost of living and the like in my part of the county is lower than most and the recession was pretty well in full swing and I prob coulda went even lower
And if you do get it I'd really recommend an HD service manual for 07 softtails it's the best $60 I've put into my bike yet lol

Yes, I ran the VIN through my insurance company (which is only $29 a month... seemed cheap for insurance on a bike) and it was clean, no wrecks. I agree, how much servicing did they do with 5k miles? Lol I am going to counter them with the $11,997 out the door price and see what happens. Its still a tad high but not unreasonable.
Btw Kelly bb states the trade in value at $9100 and I doubt they gave that as trade in value to the last owner and I'm sure they didn't give that at auction so if they let you walk out the door with it at 11.5 after fees etc they still pocket 2k on it I'd let em know that, you know that, as well.
I know they're in business to make a profit and they don't make squat by not moving inventory so play up the profit that you already know they at least have in it plus the fact that the current seat is basically a downgrade from the factory and that the "mods" it does have are nothing substantial and see if that gets you closer to where your comfortable
IMHO the only regret ul have with an fxstc is the price u wind up paying if you feel you paid too much
All in all it's my favorite bike and I've owned several and ridden even more and the only "upgrade" I'll ever see is when the OL and I get older well get a bagger for the really long hauls but I don't see myself ever getting rid of our fxstc!
