Just took a big step up with my new purchase. Went from a 2004 Yamaha V-Star 650 Custom as my first "learner" bike last year. Had a lot of fun on it. Did a lot of customization. And was a little sad to see it go. But, I needed to upgrade.
So I went and found myself a 2008 Night Train.
4500 kms on it. Pewter Grey. Factory upgraded wheels. He put the 2" lowering kit in the rear, stage 1 with vance & hines big radius pipes. He put some stuff on that I'll be taking off and putting the factory parts back on. All 4 pegs, shifter/brake pedals, mirrors. Other than that, I love it. It's going to be a keeper for a long long time.
Pics to come whenever I wash and wax it.
Welcome and good luck. You will never look back and be sorry for your upgrade and your choice. Now have the Miss's hide the credit cards and the check book because the "mod bug" is soon to follow, no matter how hard you try to resist, it's futile!!
Coolio, Koshman! I went from the same bike to my Deluxe. Those VStar 650's are great first bikes. They also make for great bobbers if you tear 'em down. I was sad to see mine go too, but it was time for her to move on to the next beginner.

KI, too, went from a V-Star 650 to a Harley, in my case I went to a Heritage. I wasn't sorry to see the V-star go though, it was too small.
