Was changing bars on my bike lastnight and when i slid my tank back to get at the electrical connections i broke the line that goes from the tank bottom to the throttle body. It seems to me like the line is made of a hard plastic of some sort. Or maybe its just gotten hard over the years as the bike is an '03. Question is, would i be fine just to splice in a piece of fuel line and hose clamp it good until new parts show up?
No its the hose that connects the tank to part number 11. It was #32 in my parts guys book. Has some fancy connector attached to the fuel line with O ring seals on each end that go over the flares on the steel tube(PN 11)
Yes part #32 http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....-TANK-ASSEMBLY If just the plastic hose broke you can get a rubber fuel injection line to replace it with but if the special fittings broke then you need to get them from HD.
If you were wanting to replace it with a braided hose that has the fittings already attached, the one they make for the 04 Dyna 63020-04, will fit. It's little pricey at about $32 but it's all in what you are wanting. I can't remember right off how the hose is attached to those slip joint type fittings so I can't say if you can just cut the broken hose off and replace it with a piece of rubber hose from the parts store. I'll see if I can find my old one and take a look at it.

+1 Thats what I would do. And yes you can cut the plastic line off. The new ones like mine use the same fittings but use a rubber hose. I like the idea of a fancy braided line though!
