Default Your advices for a Fatboy low windshield

Hi,

I just came back from a 800km highway run.
It was a real pain with the wind in my face all the way.
So I'm looking for a windshield.

My selection is a Memphis Shade Slim 15" height windshiled: in you opinion is this a good choice ? (I'm 1.78m tall)

But I don't know which headlight cutout I shoudl select for my Fatboy-Lo: 7" or 9" clearance ?

Your help appreciated !

PS: sorry for the metric units but I'm french hence not an expert in US units.

15" sounds about right. Myself have a 18" and find that the top of the shield is right at eye level....where it distorts your line of vision. Either look through or above is my point....not both. I find myself ducking or peeking over with 18".

800 km with stock bars? Ouch. Change the bars The stocks are a pain vs. gusts on the highway without a windshield. My Carlinis are wider and more pullback...huge difference on the highway. Bike no longer jerks around....only feels the body is getting pounded on...not both. I haven't go more than 4 hours of riding this year...when I do go on an all day trip, I will throw the shield on...or else it will feel like going through 15 rounds.

Just for reference I bought the HD king size shield. It came in 21 inch. I am 5'11" and I had it cut down 3 1/2" at a local auto glass shop for $35.00. It is just right for me now.

Mines a tall **** and I'm cutting it down to 15", which should be right at nose level for me. I still will only use it for extended hi-way rides.

I have a Memphis Shades Batwing (with Trigger Locks) for sale if you decide to go that way.

IF you tell me your height and how far above your current shield your nose is I can build you a custom shield with a flip up that will get the wind all the way over you head and that will allow you to see over the top. Give me a call if interested - 775-762-4584

out the door for a shield like that you are looking at about $95

Do you already have brackets - if not take a look at the Universal windshield on our website, I put it on a fatboy yesterday that looked awesome.

I just road to the Myrtle Beach rally in May. I road 150 miles in pouring rain. When i got there i went straight to the Harley Dealer and purchased the 21 inch tall windshield. Best purchase i have made for my bike since day 1. No more fighting the wind and now i can actually hear what my V&H Big Radius pipes sound like at higher speeds.

They look ugly but now im spoiled.
