First if your a big guy the factory setting on the rear shock is light and needs to be turned up. Never had an issue keeping the rear rim cleen and shinny. I'm not a fan of that paint sceeme on the custom. Prolly the most produced color. I prefer the blue/black ones. Have fun customizing it/her!
Congrats. I too am a recent Softail buyer and am as thrilled as you about the bike.
Thanks! There is certainly nothing like getting on a bike after not riding for 17 years. I was nervous, excited all rolled into one. But as soon as I started riding, it all came back. I still may do a safety course just to brush up.

Naaaaa, I'm 5' 11" and 188 lbs so I would assume its OK. What do you recommend using to keep the rear tire shine ans clean? I definitely don't want to lose the shiny look. There is a lot of chrome on the bike so its perfect.
I may end up having it painted just so its one of a kind but I do like the red pearl two tone also. I have actually never seen one around town.

I use Semi Chrome but its pricey stuff but I use Pledge for upkeep.
Congrats, IMO one of the nicest handling bikes Harley made, amazing what a low mileage 5 year old bike sells for these days...I like the two tone paint.
Don't be in a hurry to lower it, especially if you are a big guy or might be doing some 2up. I'm 6'3"/245lbs and it does not need to be any lower once I put my load on it.
Put a 90/90 metzler on the front next tire change, stock seat and sissy bar with lugage rack, and relocate the front blinkers to the forks and you are done-(maybe take the reflectors off)....I like em fairly stock..

ahhh...yea, I forgot about Pledge. I used to use that stuff all the time when I had my sportty in 95'. I will probably buy some of the Semi Chrome too... I am maticulous about keeping my bike clean.
