I've got a lot of reading to do on lowering it. Is there a good thread I should read on it? Like how to do it and other than the looks, how does it affect the ride?
I just used the Lowering Bolts they are in all the Catalogs ..
The Shotgun Shocks are probly the best but there 1500 Bucks
YES 1500 ,
I like the Feel of my Ride Setting Lower in it
AND It Looks Better Too ,, Much Better Fur Posin ...
Good Luck you'll be Busy , But it will be FUN ,
I pulled the trigger tonight on the 2007 Softail Custom. The bike has 4600 miles on it and I have been going back and forth with the dealer for a week. I finally bought it for $10835 and out the door it was an even $12000. I feel like I got a great deal, the bike looks new! Thanks to everyone that commented on my thread last week helping me with this decision.
Here it is... more pics to come!
Stunning. Ride safe and enjoy that beautiful ride!
Congrats!! I love my 07 fxstc! As for lowering it I ride two up about 40% of the time, so that isn't an option for me but i have seen them lowered and they look pretty good. I was getting about 3500 tops on my stock tire. I just replaced it with a pirelli night dragon. So far I like how it sticks to the road and they say it last long then the stock dunlop.

I will certainly check out that tire when Im ready to change it. From the looks of it, I should atleast have another 1500-2000 left on it.
ghoticov - that's the stock sissy. It looks wicked without the stock seat attached haha! Mine is the stock sissy also with a solo seat. It bolts to the fender strut.
As for your front sigs, you just need $40-$50 relocation brackets that mount to your fork tubes or lower triple pinch bolt (depending if HD brackets or not). Where your wires are stock and run outside it is a sinch to do. Just make sure you re-route your wires out of the way of binding or getting pinched.
