Just wondering about the hot engines in general. I had a 2010 FDX and I suspect that the lean tuning is part of the heat issue. Also I now have a 2006 with Stage 1 and it seems to run cooler than my 2010..even when I did the Stage 1 to the 2010. Point being the new bikes are tuned lean and HOT.

This may sound like a stupid question, but Ill throw it out anyway! Would this have adverse affects on the engine being that it is not allowing the heat to escape? Or is the fact that it can no longer escape in the spots that these cover just too small of a consideration to affect the overall running temperature?? Seems to me you are compounding the no air flow/overheating issue of air cooled engine???

Just ordered our Capt. Itch "Crotch cooler" with chrome studs a conchos. Can't wait to install and see how well it works, been kinda HOT here in sunny southern california lately. Reported to get to 100+ this week, Ouch!!!

To be honest I have not felt any difference in engine heat while using the crotch cooler. I can say that it now much more comfortable while sitting at a long light. Highly recommend the crotch cooler.
