Got a question guys, I have a 93 fatboy with 35,000 on the engine. Was thinking of a rebuild sometime in the future but it still runs good and no smoke. I have a chance to pick up a brand new twin EVO, a 2003, from a guy for 3000.00. The question is, should I stay with the same 93 motor to keep it a 93 for the resale value? And can the 2003 run on carb or does it have to be converted. I was thinking of picking up the motor and wait until I find a good buy on a rolling chassi.

Thanks Jeff. I haven't even looked at the motor yet. Just found it on craiglist. But now thinking about it, you're right.

also some are rubber mounted and some are not. So that will play into your frame selection as well. Seems like a pretty good price I guess. Is it Silver or Black?

Another option you have is just to buy another EVO...I know Benjy's Harley in WV sells brand new in the box EVOs in natural finish for something like $2,495. Its not much more for a powder coated engine.

You aren't even half way to a rebuild on your evo. Drive it until it needs the rebuild and then trick it out. The last Evo I had had 68000 miles on it and was running like a top when I sold it. It made 48 states and Canada without one problem.

Thanks KY23. Have tosee if I can get in touch with Benjys. Need a number if you have it. And thanks to you too Terry. That gives me an idea how far I can ride this pup. I have owned 3 bikes and sold them for one reason or another and never got them over 10,000 miles. Now I bought this Fatboy and the guy took good care of the bike. It had 26,000 on it when I got it and in almost new like condition. Some locals think I should pull the top end off and redo it but if it runs like a bat out of hell without missing a beat, why? 68,000 Miles sounds pretty darn good to me.
