Default 32K Miles: High for a 2007 FatBoy?

The title says it all. I can get a really pretty 2007 Fatboy, with lots of goodies for about $12k. The catch is, it has 32k miles. That seems like a lot to me. Is it?

Thanks,
Steve

I don't know. It's at a dealer, who claims it's a single owner bike that was babied and well taken care of. And while it LOOKS like that's true, how does one really know, right? So I would say, no, I don't have the records. But if service was at a HD dealer, I should be able to look up the VIN, right?

I don't consider 32k high for a '07. I have 44k on my '06. Folks who ride their bikes put between 5 and 10k per year. Folks who ride their bikes like this "usually" keep up the maintenance, ie oil changes. I'd be more concerned of an '07 with 5k on it. Ask for maintenance records, then offer 11k and ride it home.

I've got over 33k on my 2008 Heritage and runs fine. It would be nice to see the service history, but they may not have it. See if you can test drive it or if they know the previous owner so you could call him or her directly about the service history. Good Luck

Well I see it as low miles. I have 108k on mine. Just a matter of perspective. Heck mine didnt really break in till it hit 20k. 32k is fine if properly serviced! But id talk him down.

I would be more concerned with the price then the miles.

Thanks! That's the kind of feedback I am looking for! Keep it coming! I'm not thrilled with the price still (asking $12.5k) but I assume I can negotiate that down. The comment about "no records, offer $11" is a good one. I just want to make sure that there's a lot of life in the bike, even at 32k. And if soft_02 is any indication, there's a lot left! I'd feel a lot better under $11k though. I can get an 07 Road King with 17k for under $11k (private sale) so you can see the trade-off going through my mind. Just really have my mind set on a Fat Boy...

IMO No, 32k ain't a lot of miles, just broke in good. I've averaged around 9k for 5yrs and 1 yr I didn't ride hardly at all because I Lost a Brother and my Mother. With us only get to ride usually 6 months a yr here in IND I'd have a lot more miles if we lived in a warmer climate.

A friend of my son just traded in his 05 with 186,000 on her without any major problems. He was trying for 200,000.

Now that IMO would be High mileage..

I fully expect to get at least 150K on our bike, cause I know how its been taken care of and ridden, thats why at my age it may be my last one.

I've seen a lot of cars that don't go 150K.

If U went looking for a car that was 5-6 yrs old, Would U walk away because it has 35K miles on it.?????

That's why it kind of gets me in here when so many members think anything over 30k is not worth looking at..

Seems so many look for that super low mileage bike (Garage Queen). But they fail to think how its been ridden and don't know how the bike was taken care of..

=====================================
Example''
- For sale, 07 GT Mustang, 40k that was well maintained and driven normal.

Or - For sale, 07 GT Mustang, 10K that was taken to the drag strip every week end..

Which one would U buy.??. That's why IMO mileage ain't everything..

U may think that overboard, but how do U think some weekend warriors that bar hop with the gang ride their bikes. I've read about the way some ride,, (***** to the Wall everywhere they go)

As mentioned above I too could feel a difference in the motor breaking in all the way to 20k on our bike.
Actually she feels better every yr I have and ride her.. now at 37k she's just hitting her stride.
