I do a lot of driving on a secondary road back and forth to work (28 mi one way) when it is dark. Problem is the deer population here is out of control. Not a day goes by where I do not see either dead ones along side the road or one or two standing there ready to commit suicide. I don't want one to take me out on my bike.
My problem is not enough light either out front or to the sides. Need suggestions. Driving lights? Who makes them that will fit. Engine guard with add on lights? Don't really like the look but would go that way for better night vision. With that option I could also add highway pegs. Bullet headlight was on when I got this bike so don't know if the original was any better but it does put out ok beam straight ahead, just doesn't reach out as far as I would like and light up the sides of the road.
This question has come up before with a guy with a Nightrain I think it was, and it was surgested and he went with the auxiliary light bar that Harley's do, I think it will probably fit a Deuce.
The suggested LED lights are the same wattage as the LED flashlight lamps I have for my Maglight, don't know how much that would help, but I put a Sylvania Silverstar ultra bulb in my Deuce with a Cibie headlamp housing I got from Daniel Stern website, seems to be the authority on headlamps. It works well, I never wished I had a better headlamp for riding to work in the dark. Saved my bacon one morn, lit up a guy in black pants/hoodie, hands in pocket crossing a dark intersection in front of me, saw him and stopped before I hit him.
