Damnit damnit. I wasn't going to do air. Then I thought maybe some day. Then I thought the 422's would be good enough...but now that I've got 'em on and low it's a real back breaker on sh1tty IL streets. Promotional price and easy install? Shiz just got real tempting!

Here is a pic of how the switches mount behind the horn. Also, regarding the kickstand...you can still use the stock stand with it fully slammed, however the bike will sit in a more upright position. I would always make sure it is parked on a relatively flat surface...just for peace of mind.

In this post I gave a brief description on how I did my wiring, including where I mounted the relay. It's pretty straight forward and is probably the easiest part of the install...it is all plug and play, negative to negative and positive to positive on the battery.

The "pins" that were mentioned are actually the front mounting bolts, you just need to remove them and let the shock pivot down on the rear shoulder bolts to get at the trans drain bolt. One of the pictures in the above link shows how the shock would look swinging on the shoulder bolts and the "pins" removed

Excellent choice, your only regret will be not getting them sooner...might I add that the Ricor Intiminators are a great addition to the Shotgun shocks.

Yeah, man. I've had em for over a year. I've had no parking problems with my stock stand .... I keep the bike in gear when she's parked so she doesn't roll off either.

Hey, Fat Boy. I can't tell for sure, but do the switches come with threaded retaining rings? I think I'd mount the switches in my dash. Is the wiring that came with it long enough to do that?

I also checked out your install pics...looks like you were able to install it without removing the rear tire? Are the instructions pretty straight forward for dummies?

I wondered about that. With mine lowered 2", I can barely get the stand out if there's a slight rise in the road. I think I'd invest in a shorter one since I'd have it slammed most of the time. Certainly if the front was lowered also.

prldrm yes the switches are held with threaded rings and the wiring is long enough for what used to be the normal switch mount in the dash.
JD includes shrink wrap to protect the plugs once you've routed the wiring.

Any questions about the install will be answered by JD by phone or email.

The toughest part was breaking free the right shoulder bolt to remove the stock shocks. Heat would have helped break the factory installed red Loctite.

Yes, they have retaining rings on them, the picture I posted is how the switch assembly comes from JD. You could mount them in your dash, but I think you would need to add some length to the wires to make it work.

And yes, you can do the complete install without removing the rear tire, there is no reason to remove since it does not get in the way. You will need to remove the plastic shroud in front of the tire, but that is only 1 screw. Instructions are pretty straight forward and easy to understand.
