Ok, another shotgun thread.
I was going to wait till winter to buy and install the shotgun shocks. Then I thought, why wait? I may be dead by next winter! So, questions. Where did you guys mount the control switches, I don't like riding my bike with the bags on it and I think I read something gets drilled into the bottom of the tranny case to mount and if that is true how can one lower it and will a bike jack fit under there when I want to lift it with that under there and does the kick stand have to be changed out to a shorter version? Thanks.
1. Switches come on a bracket that mounts to horn
2. Not sure what year the frame changed but some might need to tap two holes. Bags won't effect anything either way.
3. The shock sits even with the frame when mounted. Will need to pull front pins to change oil
4. Just raise it up to get jack under it

Really simple install, Tony. On your 2006, look under and on the bottom of the trans and you'll see the two points that will need to be tapped with a 7/16 14 thread tap, to mount the compressor. Everything is mounted up out of the way. Tapping the holes is probably the slowest process of the entire install.
Switches like Kozy said come ready to easily mount on the horn nut. Or you can get creative and remove the bracket and mount them on the coil cover or console or any other place you can think of. lol
The shock body itself is no issue when you want to jack the bike later. It's rock solid.
Get it while JD is offering the nice discount which I think brought the price down to $1,250, if I remember right.

Thanks guys but a few more things. If the switches mount where the horn is, is it behind the horn or do I have to find a new place to move my horn too. Also, if I slam it and park it, can I do that with the stock kickstand? I'm no dumbie but those 2 points I can't seem to get by without having it in my face to see and understand it. Also, trust me. If the price is reduced to 1250, it's a done deal, period!
Don't wait just do it like I did. Ordered mine today can't wait for Santa driving the big brown sleigh to bring me my shotgun shocks

Using some vise grips as pictured above.. looks a bit tedious and keeping an even amount of pressure odd....

Thanks much guys, yea, it's a done deal. Forget Santa, never know when ones number is up so I am just going to do it, especially since they have the price reduced right now. Ordering them tomorrow and then I am off from July the 4th untill the 20th. The mechanical end of the install is nothing for me, a snap. Now, that electrical? Never was worth spit when it came to wiring! I have screwed up more crap trying to do my own wiring that I now approach it with a great deal of caution. The one good bit of news? My buddy, my indy guy, is only 2 blocks away. He doesn't know it yet but he's helping me with the wiring! 
P.S., any pics of these "pins" that I will have to pull to change my oil too by any chance? Again, thanks for all the help. I will be doing this myself and like I said, if I have a snag, my indy is 2 blocks away.
