I left the compressor snug but not tightened down until I did a trial test of full up and slammed, (while still up on the jack stand) to make sure everything was clear.
Good luck, prldrm. You're going to be impressed with the quality and attention to detail JD has done with the kit.
Yes, they have retaining rings on them, the picture I posted is how the switch assembly comes from JD. You could mount them in your dash, but I think you would need to add some length to the wires to make it work.
I think if you were to run them up under the tank pad/panel they might be long enough. I have a leather pad on my tank so I don't think the wires would be easy to hide..I would most likely run the wires up the neck under the tank and route the wires with the rest of the ones that go into the console...in that case I would need to lengthen the wires
Damnit damnit. I wasn't going to do air. Then I thought maybe some day. Then I thought the 422's would be good enough...but now that I've got 'em on and low it's a real back breaker on sh1tty IL streets. Promotional price and easy install? Shiz just got real tempting!
Honestly, with the choice of $16 lowering bolts or $400 422's, I'm surprised they sell a single shock - with everyone saving thier money for Shotguns.
It's a done deal guys. I talked to JD today and my Shotguns will be in the mail Friday, ( tomorrow ) morning. I am not worried about the shock bolts because I have already had them removed when I lowered it before with bolt on Burley bolts. I will say this to those who don't know and already have your bike lowered. If you go to the Shotguns you need to go back and use your stock shock bolts, per JD. Yep, my old *** is tired and sore, you only live once so to heck with it. I can't wait, 3 weeks of vacation coming up, some bike and car shows, gonna be interesting and fun!!! Always remember guys, you get what you pay for!
*edit* P.S., JD said they want to corner the market with these shocks. Legend, which does not even compare goes for 1250.00, that is why they are now 1250.00 too. It sounds like they may be this price as long as it takes to get to where they want to be but do not take my word for it, CALL JD and talk to him about the price and for how long.

Did he tell you you were the 4th guy from IL to order a set this week?
Thanks for helping me spend some dollars. I couldn't read another thread about how much a$$ Shotguns kick and keep bustin' my back on these dilapidated roads.

In fact JD did tell me I was the 4th guy from Illinois to buy them today. Small world or great product for the price? I chose to think the latter of the 2. Can't wait!!!

Switches to operate shotgunshock can be removed from supplied bracket and placed anywhere your imagination takes you. If an extension is needed for a custom mount, we provide a plug in extension, that makes job easy, thanks to all the shotgunshock users and to those with all the good questions.
