Default pain from drag bars possibly switching to apes

I have owned my 2007 night train for 5 years gone on a couple 1000+ mile trips and had the usual occasional ache but this year my neck and wrists have been bothering me a lot so I'm thinking of switching to apes I really like the carlini evil apes and wanted the high roller risers because of the set screw to hold the bars in place but holy cow the $ are adding up and I haven't even looked at the cables or polyurethane bushings. My question is it worth it? I think the 14 inch evil apes would look good on my night train but give or take 800 dollars good I don't know. Those of you that have apes any regrets?

No regrets here. I went form drag bars to apes and haven't looked back. If I had known how much more comfortable they would be I would have done it much sooner than I did. As for them being worth the $$ only you can decide that.

Had Drag bars here as well as you can see in my profile pics and after riding for more than a half hour my throttle side neck and shoulder would get so sore I wouldn't even want to ride anymore. Installed apes and it all went away except now my fingertips tend to go numb after an hour of riding but that I can deal with. Make the switch and don't look back, you won't regret it!

Sadly, yes they help. Went from drags to z-bars on 6"risers to 11" yaffe monkey bars to 13" bars. World of diffrence.

I went with custom built BR bars and Carlini "Boob" risers. Cost was higher than you're looking at, but I think it was money well spent.

I'm sitting up right now with my hands at shoulder height vs. slightly bent over reaching for the stock bars.

Started to have the same issues years ago; switched to apes and never looked back.

I put 8" pullback risers on my Night Train, they made a huge difference in comfort. You can see them in my sig pic.
