Default Wobble/spokes question

Hey guys

I've read up on all the topics I can find but I have just 1 small question left.

My bike has a wobble around 75km/h (45mph) and I'm positive my neck bearing needs grease (I'd had the bike for a month and it all blasted out the bottom, they prob put too much in).

While I was checking everything out I checked my spokes and was wondering how much movement should be in them? If you grab one with your index finger and thumb and wiggle hard should there be any movement?

You should have no movement in your spokes when you wiggle them. And a lack of grease in your steering head bearings won't cause a wobble.

If your spokes are so loose that you can wiggle them I'd venture a guess that is the source of your wobble.

They should "tink" when tapped with a screwdriver or wrench. "tung" is loose. Ditto Jimmers.

Thanks guys. I did the screwdriver test on them yesterday, most "tink" but a couple "tung", and wiggle only the slightest bit.

Thanks again

I use a wooden pencil, but it's all the same thing. I check my spokes every week or two depending how much I ride. Generally 600 miles a week.

I actually got in trouble for not checking my spokes every ride by the woman at the dealership, like a kid who didn't brush his teeth lol. She said whatever the issue is, be it bearing adjustment or just loose spokes its covered under warranty
