When I bought my 07 night train I purchased a stage one upgrade. This consisted of screaming eagle slip ons, air box and download. My question is what is included with the stage two. Is there a real notice in improved performance and is it worth the money? I know I could pick up the phone and ask the dealer but I want to hear from those who have it and are not trying to sell it to me. Thanks.
That is correct. The stage 2 cartridge is for upgrading from an 88 to a 95 inch motor. The cartridge is the cheapest part of it...
But if you're upgrading and spending the money it's better to go with a CERT or a Power Commander III and it will give you a lot more options to fine tune the bike. The cartridge upgrades are pretty generic.
It is true that the power commander and some other aftermarket tuners provide more flexability. Many of them are great products. However, if you don't plan on dyno tuning your bike these adjustable parameters wont help you, as an individual, very much. Moreover you have the first year of the 96" motor, it will take these aftermarket companies a while to catch up with any ECM changes, i might also hesitate to void my warranty by adding such a piece in at this point. If you opt to do the stage II (which will actually make your 96" into a 103") you might consider using harley's Race tuner kit. It offers the flexability of the aforementioned products but keeps you with all HD.
