Newb on two wheels
Hey all,
I have been dreaming of getting a Harley since I saw a Heritage Softail Classic when I was about 14. A few months ago while I was deployed I decided it was time. My wife was on board so i went for it. About a week ago I picked up a Fatboy. I was a little nervous at first because i had never ridden a street bike of any kind. I had a little dirt time but that's it. I have been reading info from this forum for months now too and have used it to make all kinds of decisions. Anyway Riding it is a dream and I did the first day of the basic riders safety course and cant stop smiling. Thanks for all the help even though you didnt know i was reading...

Glad we could help and happy to have you in the ranks.
Master that course, practice, practice practice, and never forget: EVERYONE is trying to kill you! As long as you remember that, so you can predict and foil their plan, you'll be riding till a ripe ol' age.
Welcome from MD and see ya around...

Congrats! Do yourself a favor and check out this book:
Be careful out there and don't ever believe you're too good to learn. Riding a bike is more than a hobby, it's a way of life. It has to be, or it'll be the end of yours. Keep your eyes open, expect everyone to try to hit you, and don't believe anyone can see you.
