I don't think you are understanding what he is saying. I had the same problem. There is not enough clearance between the end of the exhaust stud and the head pipe to completely fit a socket onto the flange nut. Not even a thin wall 1/4" drive socket. I tried it. The use of a swivel or flexible extension does not help if you can't even fit the socket onto the nut.

I tried the flex extension, I spent like $60 on random extensions and swivel joints and stuff and nothing worked. I'm thinking if I could have found a ball joint type thin walled socket it may have worked but only thing I could find at several tool stores was impact ball joint sockets and those are way thick. Crows foot seemed to work, I blew my cigar smoke on all the joints and it didn't move like it had a leak so I assume no leaks.
Sounds sick though, glad they are baffled since they are super loud, longer would be better though, lol.
