UGH!!! One step forward, Two steps back...
I go to pick up dinner, which is only about a 10 mile round trip. I drove my bike because I wanted to see how the new set up felt (rolling the bars forward, being lowered, etc). I notice that on a few bumps it seems to either bottom out or hit really hard. It didn't do that before I added the swingarm license plate... even after I lowered it.
I get home to find this:

Here is a view on how the license plate is mounted:

It bent my friggin fender because the license plate bracket is hitting it when I go over even mild bumps. What I didn't realize is that while it clears pretty well when I am not seated on the scoot, when I sit down... it only clears by about 1/2" and obviously nails it when hitting bumps.
My question is what are my options now? Can I adjust the shocks to be more stiff? If so, how do I do that?
What do I do about the bent fender? Would I be better off just switching to an axel mounted plate? Maybe behind my swingarm bag on the left side?

The left holes on the plate holder part go through the plate and through the end of the swingarm mount. The part that is curved is for a light kit (which I am not using).
Also, I can't move the swimgarm mount down because it hits the brake calipers.
EDIT: Right now I am looking at this straight one from Dead Creek Cycles:

Next question is, how in the world can I fix my fender and keep the paint from peeling? Or is it time for a whole new paint job? Of course, I would have to get the tank and front fender to match. lol
