1st I have to say hi to everyone as I am a newbie here. I have been riding mostly japanese, german, and british bikes for the past 43 years. I sold the last of my bikes last fall and this spring and am in the process of downsizing which means getting rid of an RV I never use anymore. The RV is a converted commercial coach which is also an antique. I have a guy interested who'd like to trade a 2004 Heritage Softail for the RV. I think we both realize some cash will be involved on his end of the deal if we move forward. My question is - what is his bike really worth? it has screaming eagle pipes and a 6 spd tranny. The bike is almost showroom clean, 17000 miles. All maintenance records are available... it looks nice, I'd like to own it. My RV could be worth anywhere from 15K to 30K or more depending on the ecomony. I don't want to offend him, I don't want to give the RV away. I've looked at KBB... anyone want to pipe in here? I dont keep up with HD pricing and resale values and could use some advice.

Thanks - Bob

BTW - for those interested in what the RV looks like - goto www.rsymonds.info/bus

6 spd was not standard in 2004. Is it a Baker or other manufacturer? Other engine mods? Check the VIN does it start with 1HD1?

Just as you said about your RV. Depends on the economy. Maybe with the economy the way it is right now it may be an even trade.

I would agree no more than an even trade on the Harley owners part. I have been considering buying a motor home and the prices are way down on them because of the economy and high fuel costs , especially the converted commercial RV's. I would say strike while the iron is hot. sounds like a bike with a lot invested in it. The six speed conversion alone don't come cheap.
