Default Stock FLSTF height

I just lower my Fat Boyoy again about 5/8". It was already lowered by the dealer with the low profile shocks about 1" but I felt it still needed to go down a bit more so I used the Progrssive Lowering Kit on the stock take-off shocks. It feels right, and I like the new height but I just want to know how much lower then stock I'm at right now. Can someone with a stock height 2006 Fat Boy measure from the rear end of the fender to the ground when the bike is standing streight up, just like in the image below. Thanks it would really help.

Also is there any way of torquing down the rear of the shock to the swingarm with out buying the Snap-on SRES24 torque wrench adaptor? Also 135 ft/lb seems really high, is it needed?

I'd be interested as well.. sorry too late on mine.. also lowered, possibly an inch or so but I'm also unsure.. I just know if sits great.. Just enough. It was probably close to 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" when it was first setup, then I tightened back the preload to get the squishy bounce out of the rear end and it pulled it back up to probably an inch.

I'd love to know the stock distance floor to fender.. Well like that, it would be fender to top of tape-measure I guess.. so it assumes the tape measure is the same height, huh?

I have a 2005 Screamin Eagle Fat Boy that comes with the 150 tire and it is lowered from the factory.
It measures 13.1"with no rider. It measures 12.2" with me sitting on it. I weigh 185 lbs.
When I buy the spanner wrench, to reset the shocks to the firmest setting ,I will take both measurements again.
Make sure you look up inside your fender from the rear to make sure that you are not rubbing any wires, when you hit a bump. I would do this after every ride, for a while, to make sure you wont have a problem

Babs, I didn't know that ajusting the preload would change the ride height. Good to know.

Yes the measure I need is from the floor to fender. The image I posted is from Fatbill's Customs webpage.

Yeah it sat lower and sat a lot lower with me on it when we first got it done.. One little ride down the road and I knew it was too sloppy, so when we tightened the preload, it pulled it up significantly to about 1" or so.. and sat higher with me on it as well.. I'd say it's about right, now.. just a tad tighter than stock.. Rides good, handles good, tracks good.. Though I need to check my fallaway on the front end and probably adjust/grease.. I seriously don't think the svc guys ever even touched it when they prepped the bike.. along with lubing the cables which were dry as a bone.. Dadgum highschool droppout svc kids at the local dealer.. It's shameful.

Sorry Tom, I'll try to check tonight if I can get down to the basement with my tape measure. I'd be interested myself in comparison to your scoot lowered from the factory. Kinda hard though to hold it up level while pulling a tape measure in the back I'll bet.. We'll see.

Babs,
Mywife measured while I held the bike upright.
It would be interesting to know how many, if any, tenths of an inch the bike dropped when we added the bags. I figure your bags added approx. 50 lbs., since yours are so much bigger than mine and has the additional hardware.Mine weighed somewhere in the high 30s

That is a possibility, though as tight as I have the preload, I'd bet mine didn't drop much by adding the bags.. It feels exactly the same sitting on it.. and no detectable change in ride also.

For all.. I meant to add there's one good way to judge how much lower you are... You can measure from the ridge on the sidewall of your tire to the flat in the curve of the inside of your fender.. The ridge on mine is now about 1" above the bottom edge of the top inside of my fender.. from memory. I'll double check that as well. As you see my sig pic below, the ridge was just below the fender edge prior to lowering.. old pic.
