Default Softail Deluxe Docking Hardware any Pic?

Anyone have a Softail Deluxe with the nostalgic bags as well as with the quick connect docking kit for a sissy bar? I purchased the hardware (For quick connect sissy bar) from Harley but it seems like I might need an additional plate? The existing Bag mount riveted on the bags already pushes the bags slightly away from the bike. Do the bolts go through that as well as docking points and will push the bags from the bag even further then before?

If someone does have this setup, any way you can show me a pic of in between the bags and where they mount to the bike.

Yep they just go thru, bolts go into bags from inside, thru bags as they are from factory, thru quick disconnect mounts and into fender support. Its gotta have space for backrest clearance. Ralph

Ralph..........So you're saying that to take the bags off you have to remove the strut bolts every time?

Yup, that's the way you have to do it with these bags, they're not detachable. You don't need another plate though.

Ok, so it is normal that they will be pushed away from the bike a bit more then they are now.

It's normal. The gap on top will be filled by the sissy bar brackets, but the gap in the rear is there to stay. You might want to look into some Heritage bag mounting studs. Not sure if they'll work, but they would give you the option of removing the bags without having to remove the bolts from the struts. The HD part# is 90367-03. If these won't do the trick, you may be able to get something similar to them fabricated.
