Hi Guys,
I have a 2006 FLSTFI Fatboy and i am having trouble with my tailight. The tailight is fine but the brake light is not functioning. The bulb looks fine and the switches are fine i am sure. Using a test lamp, the outer pins in the bulb wiring socket have current but the centre pin does not. Question in my mind is, could this be a problem with the circuit board? Any suggestions pls would be very much appreciated before i take things apart, and are their any dangers in taking out and checking the circuit board? Maybe i have overlooked something, what do you think my American brothers :-)
one pin should have 12v with the ign on = running/tail light. if the switches are good and the fuse isn't blown, the other pin will only have 12v with either brake lever depressed. the grd should be good since the tail light works. if it doesn't work off of either brake lever, then most likely a bulb or fuse.
