Very seldom to I endorse a product only because so many people have so many different views or idea's. I am also a very smart buyer but I will go for quality over anything else no matter what it costs. If I can't afford what I want, I wait until I can. If you do not get the shotguns you will be sorry. There is nothing else out there that compares. I have rode several other bikes with different air systems and they just don't match up. The shotguns are more, much more then just a lowering system. It adjusts the ride and rebound as well and it make a bike a new and totally different bike each and everytime you get on it and ride it. If you just want to save money and lower your bike, buy some bolt on's. You get what you pay for, its as simple as that.

I'm selling my Shotguns since I'm moving to a Bagger, look at the softail parts for sale. The shock is only a month old

As someone who has had both, I would buy the Shotgun and never look back. The 422's are ok but not even close to Shotgun. The ride with Shotgun lowered almost to the stops is better than the 422's at lowered 2 inches and with the flip of a switch you can raise it to whatever height or firmness that you want. On top of everything else, JD really wants your business and all of your friends business and the service that he provides proves it. You can read about it in every Shotgun thread.

My bike with 422's set at the lowest setting:

And with Shotgun set at the lowest setting before it falls over:

As another who had both its like McDonalds vs a Peter Luger's Steak. The 422s felt better than the stockers at regular ride height.

When I lowered mine 422's to the lowest setting it was a very harsh ride and the stockers felt better. All the benefits of the 422's were gone.

If you want a lowered ride that is comfortable the SS is your answer no question.

I had this same question, and now my 422s with less than 500 miles on them are posted in the Classifieds here as I just installed my Shotgun. Now, dont get me wrong, the 422s are great and much superior than the stockers, but in just a few days of riding the Shotgun, it is the best mod yet to my bike.

I went with the 422 regulars instead of the RAPs because Progressive informed me that the RAPs are only available in the heavy duty style, and since I only weigh 165 and do the majority of my riding one up, they said the RAPs would be too stiff.

If you decide to go the 422 route you will like them better than stock, but eventually you will end up with a Shotgun.

Save up for the Shotgun. You will thank yourself. I have only had mine on for a few days before I went back to work but man can I tell you this thing went from fun to a flat out blast to ride. Everything is better.

Jump all over that set of used shotguns for sale, you won't find a better deal and you surely won't find a better air shock. You will NOT be sorry.

I saved by reading here nothing but praise for the shotgun.
I too considered the 422s, but went straight to the SS and did the very simple install myself.
If you have any questions on the install, JD is a quick email away.
