Well how stupid do I feel now! Liberator, I'm glad I wasn't the only person thinking it was all going wrong.
Guys you were all correct all I needed to do was push forward hard and have my buddy put a little extra weight on it to hold it.
She's sitting nice and snug and I took her for a spin around the block and I IMMEDIATELY noticed a difference in the ride quality!!! I'm cleaning my Wimmer intake filter today so I'll go on a nice long ride later when its dried out.
I can't wait!!!!!
Bah, nothing to feel stupid about. First impression really makes it appear that it's totally wrong! I let my share of cursing go when I first tried putting on but but once it's there it's quite a nice seat. Enjoy the ride!
By the way guys, I've uploaded pics of my baby to my photo album. Check out the album in my profile.
I'm pleased as hell with the bike now I've got the mustang seat on there its like I just added back the stock shocks but its still slammed, lol. Nice and comfy!
I had the same problem when I got my Mustang. I just used an Allen as a lever to line it up right (in case you have to take it off and go through that again). I also got the pillion and backrest for the lady. The lower back support is fantastic. Expensive? Absolutely. Worth it? I think so.

I didn't think is was that expensive. I just put mine on last week and was finally able to take it for a ride for the first time this morning (due to working ALOT). Worth every friggin penny I paid for it. Love the fact that the pillion makes a backrest. Felt great after the ride, by far the best money spent on the bike. I gotta admit, I was doing a little cussing myself while installing it though.

Oh, I agree that it was worth every penny. But, I could have got a Sundowner for less than half of what I paid for the Mustang and I've heard great things about the Sundowner. I'm not complaining, though. I love my Mustang seat. No regrets.
Glad you got it worked out, looks good on your bike.
Read this with interest because I'm just about to order a Mustang pillow seat for my Night Train. I could deal with the initial installation being a little frustrating, but if I thought it was always going to be tough getting it on and off I might change my mind.
