I had to lower my bike just to reach the ground, I think I'm the shortest rider here.
doubt that (I'm 5'3"), have the badlander on a Fatboy, and have to tip toe to touch. (by the way, don't buy the line that this seat gets You lower to the road, it made no difference) I bought the burnout kit, it should make no difference to the shock, and as far as getting my jack under it with the frame an inch or so lower, You're only lowering the back, so a 2x6 under the rear tire should make enough clearance to use the jack...
note...my ol lady's V star has 1 1/2 " more ground clearance at the frame, a stock seat, and I can flat foot sitting on it with a slight knee bend...go figure
Nope... I'm 5'2", I have the Danny Gray Speedcradleâ„¢ solo seat. Danny Gray claims this "Seat pushes you down and forward approximately 2 inches". I used the Progressive lowering kit to drop down about 1 5/8" from stock, my feet are dead flat on the floor on my '06 Fatboy. No problem with jack clearance my jack is low profile. http://www.motorcyclejacks.com/MAL-2.shtml
thanks for the jack info Phantom...the friend who sold me my bike said I wouldn't be able to reach (he's 6'4")...everyone says how out of place that tall guy looked on that bike...Cheers!!!
That is the look my friend! Thanks for the email as well. Man that color takes me back to the summer of 1979. My Jr. high girlfriend's dad had a Vette that color. I would ride my ten speed Schwinn bike over her house to hold hands on the front lawn, spending the whole day gathering up my nerve to steal a "french" kiss before i left for home...hah haha. I think i will ride the Harley by her old house for nostalgia sakes this weekend! Whew wee. Yep that color you got there takes me back, very classic. The drop looks great, my bike is actually a FXST. I just got the Heritage style triple trees in, hoping to swap them out this weekend so i can mount up all the Heritage style stuff that goes with it, including the big passing lights. etc. Will post pics of course! Hey its the summer of 79, I think I hear Boston or Kansas or Ted Nugent playing. haha Good times.
