Very clever, and effective. Now that I see it I understand how you did it. Like I said very clever.
I'll have to remember that one, but I think a pair of $2 muffler clampswould be work as well or better. Besides I don't have c-clamps that big.but I do have abunch of muffler clamps laying around taking up space in thegarage.

Thanks Alot. [sm=smiley20.gif]

Thanks! But like they say, necessity is the mother of invention. I was fully prepared to go buy a shock compressor. It was the lack of availability when I needed it that inspired me.

hehe.. Do we need to all chip in a buck and buy a forum community shock compressor, then just ship it from member to member? Could do that with one of the long sockets for the front tranny pulley too. hehehehe

Thanks guys - I actually just found out I have access to a press. But if the burnout kits works fine, much easier.

The seat on my bike moved me down and back, so I actually reach a bit for the bars and I'm closer to the controls. I think the lowering should just bring me straight down, not effect me in relation to the forwards, no?

Anibuss I agree that the Fatboy and Heritage don't need to be lowered, but some of the bobtails and the Deuce, the rear fender sits way too high. Take a look at the space between my tire and the back of my fender in my signature...

lowered mine with the progressive 413 shocks, I got the chrome ones!

so far, at almost 2" lower, it hasn't bottomed out.
I'm having my bike lowered with these shocks to accomidate my new fatboy front wheel. That's good news about not bottoming out. My mechanic advised me to go with the shocks rather than the lowering kit.

Hello, I used the Burnout kit. I bought it online from Dumbassbiker.com. It was a couple bucks cheaper than J&P cycles. It was an easy install, I used a bike jack and a floor jack in combination since you have to get to the shocks kinda at the point the jack contacts the frame. Well with my jack anyway. No change in ride quality, as far as comfort. No bottoming out. I am a shorter rider, 5'5", but also a heavy one 216-220 depending on how many slices of pizza ive put down that day! haha. Now that it is slammed, I have to use the floor jack to lift the frame enough to fit the cycle jack under it. So also be wary of that!Seriously I like it. Ive attached some pics. You can see the bottom of the fender is down to the edge of the rim, but i went for the 2 inch drop. And actually i still have 3 inches between the top of the fender and the top of the tire. My rims are 18 incher's and Im running Metzler low pros. Hope this helps out.
