If you're after all out performance, get a 2 into 1. If you're after looks and sound, 2 into 2.
Very basically. Without getting into tech crap. JMHO.

I have never seen them (chrome) on a Heritage before, in fact I can't find a picture of them (chrome) on a Heritage on the net, just one video on youtube. Whichever pipes you buy make sure they are some sort of 2 into 2 crossover pipe if not a 2 into 1 so you don't degrade performance.

Here is a picture of the inside of the pipe. Is this the crossbar that you are talking about?

Yea, I guess so. I would like a louder and deeper tone.

Yep that looks like a Rush baffle. It appears you've got an 1 1/2" bafffle which is the smallest they make. If you went to a 2" you would probably be very pleased with the result.

I think everyone goes through this when trying to get the right sound they want. What I did was when I heard someones pipes and really liked the sound I would ask them what they had. Surprisingly some had no idea what they had.Lot's of bought used bikes out there I guess. I have Screaming Eagle II that are good enough for me. Vance and Hines were more than I could afford but the do have a nice deep low end tone. Ask around when you hear what you like.

That sounds like a good idea. I'll listen around. I really liked the way the Longshots sounded on my Drifter, so I am imagining that they will sound even better on my Harley, but I haven't heard what they would sound like in person.

The dealership that I got my bike from quoted me a price of around $900 for V&H Longshots, installed, remapped and out the door. Is this a reasonable price?

Are you running an open or Stage 1 air cleaner behind the cover? if not, you wouldn't need a remap. I love my Longshots. Great sound and looks. I just looked at J&P's price of $475.00. It is an easy DIY project.
