Default Bad oil cap design?

OK, here is what I have encountered 3 times from my return trip to Sturgis. My Chaps catch the oil lid and pop the lid undone. (The back of the chap where the *** is cut out, at the top of the chaps) The lid is still on there, but laying there instead of sealed. I start the motor go down the road, and my bike has oil all over the side, and all over me. Luckily, the other 2 times, I was aware of it happening and checked before leaving the gas station, and was able to seal it. Has anyone else had this happen?

Is there some type of lid that will seal really good and not easily pull out?

No.......don't wear chap that much though. Only in Fall/Winter. It may be because the FB Lo seat sits lower than on the FB?

Mine has popped out twice this year, both times i didn't have chaps on. There was some other post about this a few months back, not sure the solution but its a problem on some bikes. I believe someone said put an o-ring up around the neck for tighter seal... idk.

Mine used to pop out every once in a while. I took some teflon tape and wrapped about 30 wraps around the rubber seal. Solved the problem. I redo it every year or so.

You can get a rubber o ring or two that fit the oil dipstick and put them on there to keep it from popping out by itself.

I damn near tip my bike off the jiffy stand when trying to pull out the dipstick. Doubt mine's going to start popping out by itself any time soon.

Same here. Sometimes have to get a pair of black dot gloves on to jimmy it out of the tank neck!
