I have a problem with my windshield being a little too high while riding. If I am sitting on the seat and looking forward, I can see over the windshield. When I am on the rod and riding, I guess I am more relaxed and sitting a little lower which puts the top edge of the windshield right across my eyes making it very difficult to enjoy the ride. I measure from the bottom of the shield at the headlight cut to the top of shield and measure right at 20.5 inches. I know there is no adjustment for the shield to go up or down.
Can the windshield be cut down by a glazier, or do I just need to go to HD dealer and get a new replacement shield?

I cut mine myself with a jig saw and then smooted the edge with 300, 600 and 1200 grinding paper. Took me 1 hour in total, and the result is perfect.
There are plenty of threads on that subject, inluding some with videos on how to proceed.
If you buy one check out Long Ride Shields. I got one 2" shorter than stock when I got my bike. Great customer service & fast shipping. They usually have sales going on.
Problem I have with my stock (removable) windshield is the frame is damn near as tall as I want the windshield. Looking into other options since cutting the plastic down might look goofy with the chrome frame being so tall.
Too bad you aren't closer to me. Mine is 17.5 but I'm looking for a 19.5 to 20.5
That would have worked out very well for both of us. Mine being 20.5 and wanting an 18", The 17.5 would have worked out great.
I have found that the glazier I go to for glass work will cut it down for me. I just need to get it to him to take care of.
got the exact same problem, the top of the windshield is right on my sightline and at night I get distortion so end up sitting up very straight or leaning forward to see thru it. I need to find somebody to cut mine down about 2 inches.
I will have exactly two inches taken off mine tomorrow. My glazier I get glass and have other mirror items made said they have no problem doing it for me. My shield is right at 20.5", and will come down to 18.5". That will solve my problem. I have been riding around with a piece of blue tape on the shield set at the height I need just to make sure, and it seems to be perfect for me. I tend to relax and slump over just a little while riding.

Let us know how it turns out. Imma 'bout ready to shave 4" off mine.
