I have no idea what is fair. Lol Yes, they are the factory mini's. They are about 12" tall...not sure the width yet.

Looking at your pic to me those look like 10" bars but hard to tell. My 12" santee apes are perfect for me at 6'4" on a 1.5" riser.

Ok by strip the wires I meant the black plastic tube they sit in needs to go cause its too big and won't fit inside your new bars holes at least it won't on my santee brand so I cut it off and ran the wires inside a heat shrik tube work slick as can be.

I measured from the bottom of the bars, straight up to the top of them and they were 12"...I was surprised also. I have searched and searches to try to find out the size of the stock mini apes on the 07 softail custom and I come up with nada!

I see what you mean about the plastic tube. I thought it would feed through but I guess we will see. I was hoping I could just disconnect at the harness and then run them through while still being in the black tubing.

After you remove the pins from the plug you have to remove the plastic sheeting to feed it through the bars.

Well now looking at that frot pic they do look 12". The pic with you on it they look like 10". I think stock was 10". And seeing how yours have a narrow middle and not wide makes me think those are not stock. But I like yours with the narrow center like that. If you drill your bars out for the wires just drill a big hole for the stock wire tube. But if I was you I would buy pre drilled bars and shrink wrap the wires it's easy to do. I can go look up the size shrink wrap you need to fit your wires into. A big roll of the stuff is cheap like $6. And I think even though they are inside your bars it's nice to have them protected and also when they come out at the end in the center it looks better black and not all the wires colors out everywhere.

Maybe they aren't stock but they do have the holes in the bars for the clamps that hold the wires against the bars on the outside.

To heat shrink, I assume I would need a heat gun, right? Or will a hair dryer get hot enough?

I used a long stem lighter like a lighter you use on a grill to shrink the tubing worked slick super easy job. Slide the tubing oventhe wires cut the tubing to length then shrink it around the wires. All 6 wires fit perfect inside and the best shrink when heated shrinks up tight around then all.
