i have an 01 heritage springer and the fuel guage quit working, it reads full all thetime. pretty much know what i can get out of a tank so just watch the trip switch. low fuel light generally comes on about 175 miles into a tank and that doesn't come on either i'm guessing due to the needle reading full. any thoughts?
Yep, been posted in here many times that the float gets stuck inside Ur tank..
It can be unstuck or some times it will do it by itself..
5+ yrs and mine has worked perfect since day 1..
I also like U re-set A trip every fill up just to check mileage. Usually when I wait till the low light comes on between 170-185, it'll take 4.0 gal (+ -) 1/10 a gal to fill up again 99% of the time.
I agree the fuel gauge sucks. however mine sucks differently. it works on the kick stand but drops to empty when stood up. I think it could be a grounding issue but it could also be in the tank. anyone ever see this phenomena?

Just keep the tank full all the time & the guage will always be correct!
