Default Fuel Gauge for old Evo?

Does anyone know of a vendor that offers a fuel gauge to fit my 93 Heritage? Tired of opening cap and shaking 700 pound bike to hear gas slosh.Haha

Exactly. You can't depend on fuel gauges. When you fill it up after x amount of miles, clear the trip meter.

Yep I just flip my trip over to zero every fill up and at about 215 miles I start looking for a station.

Combination of highway and town but mostly highway/back roads. But you have a good thirty miles once you go to reserve to find a station.

That math isn't working for me. If you guys have 5 gallon tanks and you can go 215 miles, plus have a 30 mile reserve, that's a total of 245 miles. Divide that by 5 gallons and that's 49 mile per gallon. And that city & hwy? The only way I've ever seen 49mpg is cruising the freeway at no more than 60-65mph throughout the entire tank of gas. I average more like 45 mpg at 75-80mph. I typically hit reserve on my 5 gallon tanks around 185 miles. I have a 0.9 gallon reserve. All city riding it'll go down to as low as 35mpg.

No real math needed. Just zero-out your trip meter after filling the tank and note how many miles you ride until you hit reserve. It' simple and fool-proof. Pilots never fly by the fuel gauges, they fly by measuring the time and knowing how many gallon they burn per hour.
