I have a 2005 Heritage 88tc 5 speed with EFI. I know this is a cruiser and not a race bike, however, some guys at work was asking me what she would do. Having not pushed her past about 85, today I decided to find out. It was a struggle to fall just short of 100mph. She has Screamin Eagle 2 slip ons and a K&N air filter. I beleive it is all stock besides the "stage 1" upgrades. Bought her last year with 12k miles on the clock. Not sure if she has the "stage 1" download or not, but it runs well with no popping on decel or at all. She does run a little hot, but this is my first Harley after riding metric for a few years. Does this top speed sound about right to you guys.

If it is a 5 speed then yes but it shouldn't matter what your top speed is.
If you get caught going that fast, top speed will be the least of your problems. Some states will suspend your license and your insurance will go thru the roof!
It all depends on the surrounding conditions. Some days they will have trouble getting to 85, other days 100 is easy. Wind, incline, weather all makes a difference. Drop it down to 4th and you should be able to pull 100 out of it if you are so inclined. There's a road going to Bridgeport, CA that I luv doing it on.....
I was just going to suggest that. Pull to red line in 4 and then sift to 5 when you run out of motor and you will get to 100 easy. As you said, its not a sport bike, this is a cruiser, they are not built for high speed, its more like a rolling billboard.

Whats the point, are you always in a hurry to get somewhere ? If so, that ain't the bike !
I know it's not the safest thing to do, 1st and probably last time I've run this bike that hard. I have just always had a curiousity of what my vehicles will do. Now I know, will probably not venture above 80ish again. Thanks for the replies. I usually run about 5mph above what's posted. Safer and less chance of a ticket that way.
