Lightbulb Mirrors? Flipping them?

I am thinking about flipping my mirrors and was wondering what you guys think are the best options for this? I have the stock mini apes (12") on 1-1/2 risers and I hate the way the stock mirrors stick up in the air
..and the way they look.

I have looked and some Arlen Ness mirrors but I am just not sure what would work best for flipping them or if that would even work (or look good) on 12" minis. I assume a skinny tear drop would be best?

Can those with aftermarket mirrors post your set ups?

Thanks!

Hey good luck on your bike reconstruct. There are a few options. I shopped the mirrors pretty hard on this last one. Seems like Arlen Ness have the widest selection on the super low profile mirrors. Some measure 1.5 inches tall and 4 inches wide with a very small stem. That puts them small and stylish. I went with mirrors and I mounted them directly on the bars. If you look on the ape hanger install, there is a picture I just posted of my bars with mirror mounted directly on them for a clean look. You probably can't do that with the stock bars, but to get some ideas.

Also, some just go with one upside down on one side of the bike. Not as functional, but all for the same reason you stated above. they don't care for the look.

Not sure if you'll be able to see with them flipped on the stock bars. I run a stock mirror, flipped on the left side only. I can see fine, but I run 16" apes.

Not sure which ape hanger install thread you are talking about but I'll try to find it. Thanks for the input!

Belîeve it or not, even on my stockers (at 12"), I could see really well with them flipped...I just didn't like the look of the mirrors themselves. Maybe because I have them rolled forward and I sit up straight (even a little forward).

That does look műch better than with them on top (in my opinion). I am just not a fan of the look of the stock mirrors.

What I am gathering so far is you can probably use any mirrors that you want...right side up or upside down. I probably need to ride my bike to a shop that has a bunch of mirrors that I can play with. I don't want them too flashy or anything, just chrome and simple clean lines.

The only reason i have not purchased aftermarket mirrors is because its hard to find magnifieng mirrors like the stock one's. Fwiw.
