Default 12" apes for Xbones?

Looks like my new trhead was moved to the buy/sale-forum, so Im starting a new one.

PS! I'm not looking to buy anything here. Im looking for tips on what my options are.....

So I've been looking for new bars for ages now, but can't really find anyone I'm loving.....

So now I'm looking for something like the stock Harley ( 10 1/2 inch miniapes ) but 12", and maybe a little more pullback. I want 1" and no dimples....

Anybody know of anything like this?

With a springer front end you either need to get springer bras or a springer adapter plate so that you can use non springer bars on your bike. Most companies make springer bars which have a wider spacing on them for the risers. I believe it is 4.25" width on the springers and 3.5" on all other bikes for the riser spacing. There is lots of cool stuff out there.

Ya, there are bunch of options. Can't say I ever looked for 12" apes. If your going for comfort, try 2" seat springs and a bobber seat, lowers your body closer to the frame. The stock Cross Bones seat rides real high. If it's looks, you could spend a couple of days on the internet looking for the right set.

Honestly, a 12" is not going to be much of a difference. The rule of thumb with apes is to go 2" higher than what you think you want. I have 14" and am 5 11. Pic in my sig

Yeah I got the 1925 seat, and tried the 2" springs. But had to change back cos they kept bottoming out ( bad roads up here in Norway ).

About hight; I actually think the stock ones feel high enough, just think they look short. So new bars is just for looks.

Bretnbama, I agree that 14" probably is the best looking on this bike. No disrespect to all you "apes" out there, but I think 18"-20" on softail just look stupid. But by the look of your signaturepicture, those bars are gonna be to high for me. Don't want my hands aboce my shoulders. A "short" ride for me is 2-3 hours and its usually pretty cold up here, so I need all the blood I can get in my hands hehe....

Why wouldn't you want dimples? That helps keep the bars from slipping...

You're thinking about the knurling in the center.

Im talking about the dimples for the stock controls. ( There's a dimple under the switch-housing, where the cabel lays.) Since Im not gonna use stock controls, I don't want the dimples either....

I'm with you JayOhh. I cannot like anything over 14", and really 12" is about right. They just don't look right if they are any taller. Must just be us though, as many on here are running 16" and 18". Eye of the beholder thing.

He's right, plus 12" bars look kinda small on a big bike like X bones. I would go w 14"

You could always roll the bars forward a little bit. That may give the appearance you're looking for. At least temporarily.
