Need some assistance. I want a sissy bar for my Slim but the dealer is saying the HD part #52729-08 fit even with the docking hardware for the Slim says it will work with the noted part number.
Anyone install a sissy bar on their Slim yet? Pics?
Thank you in advance!
Jim
P/N 52760-11 fits without moving the tail lights after grinding a little notch down by the quick release.....there is a post on here somewhere with directions and that's what I put on my Slim.....

Thanks! Not the style I was looking for, but may have to compromise
Pisses me off they don't have side plates for a slim. Im buying the one piece detachable short bar. I did the tail light relocation to save the grinding and I actually prefer the posts to the fins. I also mounted an axle mount plate bracket to take care of the plate.
May not be for you but it's what I did.
It's funny that you made this thread today. I actually did this mod this morning. I didn't have to relocated the signal lights or license plate. It took some time with a very old bench grinder but it fits perfect. Here a Picture, Hope it helps.

is there any way I cold talk you into a whole bike side view pic or two of you bike with the sissy bar.
I like the look of my Slim's side mounted license plate, particularly lengthwise so I did not want to relocate the tail lights and I did the grinding on the sissy bar so the sissy bar looks exactly like Slimfan's pics above but three questions: 1) Once I lock down the sissybar its "permanently" installed on the mounting lugs -- what am I not doing right -- what do I need to do make it detachable?; and 2) what is the HD kit to extend the tail lights without moving them; 3) since I also like my Licks solo bag on the swingarm, any thoughts on how I mount the vertical license plate? Any and all ideas are welcome.
Thx.
SlimFan sorry, give me until tomorrow morning to post some pictures on my bike with my two up set up.
Hau, I have the same issues. For some reason the left locking clip is a little stiff or tight when it lock in place. You have to use two hands, you one to hold the little spring part and the other hand to rotated the clip and you should beable to slide it right out. I'm assuming with time it will clip in and out easier. Hope that helps.
