(also available with the HiFlow 587 is the traditional hose and filter breather system)

The SE and the Ness BS both vent the hot oily air back into the engine via internal passageways built into their backplates. This is to satisfy the EPA, but it is NOT good for performance or for the engine.

Both the SE and the HiFlow 587 flow more air than your engine can use, so if you are happy with your tune right now, there is no need to change it when moving from the SE to the HiFlow.
Thanks Kevin, great info, wish I had known this before I bought my SE kit. The dark days are coming here in WA state so this will definitely be one of my winter mods. Anyone interested in an almost new SE Stage 1 intake kit...

No oil is being fed into the HiFlow Air Cleaner, so there is nothing to drip out or catch.

If this is the case, why not just plug up the breather holes

May be a bad idea, as nowhere to vent the crank.
How does ANess get away with those breather bolts?
Anyone done this?
The bolts on the Ness BS have a passageway in them that empties out into the backplate, venting the hot oily air into the air cleaner.

Do NOT put solid bolts in your breather vent on the head. The engine must vent. If you plug those holes it will vent via blowing out a gasket.

Hmm. Do you have a bolt kit for the ness that has the brass filters in them?

Not for the twinkies...only have the longer bolts for Sportsters and Evo's.

You are correct. At work I use the compressed bead type but you are correct. Just a screen and foam. I posted before having one in hand.

You will see a few of these on Slim's in the "Show us your Slim" thread. They are a good performing AC and in my opinion look the goods.
