Default My HP upgrade

Last year . I decided to upgrade the Breakout. The Motor is a Drago's 107" Blower Motor with a B-3 Procharger Supercharger. This thing is far from a stock 103" with a blower. Starts out with P3R dual Timkin 300 hp flywheels, Carillo H beam rods, Forged blower pistons at 9.5:1 compression, with blower rings ( thicker ), Heads ported and ported with 2.0 intake 1.9 exhaust, .580 lift 242 dur. with 11 degrees overlap, S&S springs, Fueling billet cam plate, High Output oil pump, Piston oiler, S&S Limited lifters and Quick push rods, Screaming Eagle comp sprocket, AIM lockup clutch, Baker 6 speed Grudge box with race shift (N123456) with Timkin Bearings, Chain and sprocket. Now that I have 5k on break in its time to dyno tune this. The break in tune produced 170 hp and 160 TQ on pump gas. The same motor has been consistent 208+ hp and 169+ tq on other bikes on pump gas. The Procharger produces 14-15 psi boost.

Base tune for break in.

208 Hp 169TQ 2017 Breakout

First, WOW!

How do you find the layout of the blower system, any compromises for riding position (leg interference)?

What made you choose the side location for the intercooler as opposed to the front?

If that wasn't enough can we get some video?

Default Procharger

I spoke first to the people at Procharger, and they recommended Drago's bike works. I spoke to Frank Drago, and he went through a whole slew of options for a clean, well performing motor supercharger build. Frank is very knowledgeable about motors, and he spent allot of time with me going over every detail. Building high horsepower/ torque motors is all he does. He builds these motors and setups for people all around the world.
The position of the intercooler is on the side because the front mounted intercooler would have hit the fender in a hard braking, or if I hit a pot hole. However I did have to modify the Aluminum bracket a couple time to get it not to break. Plus I installed a rubber mount from a modified shovelhead battery/ oil bladder mount. It does not interfere with my riding position at all. The higher mount also does't get the rocks and other road debris hitting it, and damaging the intercooler, since i ride mine all the time here in the Northwest. The belt drive is very dependable and tough. The outside belt is a Gates belt used by a ton of cars as timing belts, and the inner is also a Gates belt specially built for Procharger to handle the heat and oil bath of the inner primary. The kit cost in the mid 5k for all the billet aluminum cases and everything you need for your individual bike, plus the supercharger. Installation takes between four to six hours and no special tools are required. The belt themselves last any where between 2500, to 10000 miles, depending on how hard you ride. I ride hard and travel allot, and mine I change every five thousand miles when I do the oil changes. With this new type of belt now it has lasted much longer,
Ride ability is the funnest part. I get really good gas mileage on the freeway, and of coarse if you get on it allot not so much! The bike can pass a semi doing 55 mph in mere seconds and you will find yourself in the 100-110 mph before you know it on pump gas. I has eaten two Hyabusas so far, and I love the look on their faces when I do. In fact I find it hard to not slip back on the seat when I open it up, almost off of the seat. So hang on tight.

Really nice work on the lockwire. I worked with an aircraft mechanic and he lockwired everything on my race bike, it was like art work.

When I raced, I leaned to lock tie it all. Always used lock tight twist plier. Neetness helped get you through race inspection quicker
I forget, but some would even count each twist per inch?

I still have the pliers but this guy could make every single one look identical and in the time I took for 1 he had 4 completed LOL. Experience made a difference.
