So I dug the monster out of the garage today. Loaded it in my buddies van, got stuck in the driveway, dragged his van out with my truck and then got the bike to the shop 10 minutes before closing!!!!!

The guy was very cool and put my mind to ease. He said it would take hours to try and check all the wires and find the possible ground or problem. He suggested what I wanted to do to begin with. Re-wire the bike, get rid of all the wiring that is not needed. Basically a toggle switch on / off, head light, tail / brake light and ignition. Clean the whole harness up and get rid of the hack job switch I a runnin now. Should be a week or two.

I really hate having to pay someone to work on my bike but......electrical is just not my thing!!!!

So I ran down the shop Saturday. They already pulled all the wiring apart and were well under way with the project. Guy is going to make a little stainless steel plate with a power switch / starter switch / power light and neutral light. Also gonna make a little plate / mount behind the seat and battery to mount up any required breakers.

The guy then asked if I wanted to spend a little more money and he would clean up the handle bar / control situation, basically get rid of all the unused switches and just mount up plain perches for the levers etc. I said no way!!! I love my gixxer brake reservior and this bike aint about looks!!!! Its a ratty, industrial, hot rod!! Spending money on looks is just anti-ME for pete sakes!!! Anyway, the guy is pretty cool and does good work.

Pics to follow when I get her home, maybe this weekend.

I got these the other day. When I get the monster back from the wire job I will flat black these and figure out where to tack weld them to the bike.

Should be a cool little touch.

Maybe the side of the tank??

Or maybe in front of the tank where I had the old power switch mounted?? Or maybe where I have that loser ace of spades sticker on the side of the swinger?? Ah, decisions, decisions!!!!

Slightly old pic with the small rear fender, before I tucked the headlight in and down, changed the header wrap and added a coulpe of stickers!!!

I called my buddy this morning and he said he had time to give me a ride to the shop and pick up the bike. I said "screw it", its pretty sunny out, I can ride it home. Its only about 30 minutes. I open the door and the cold cuts right through me. -6 degrees in Torrington today!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goddam it!!!!!!!! Probably wont ride her, but I will try and get her home today. Post some pics of the new electrics. I am dying to check it out!!!

I also have two little projects planned for tonight or whenever I get her home. Tack those brass knuckles onto the bike somewhere cool and I am also gonna install he steering stabilizer that I never put back on after ooopppssss.

You can see the stabilizer under the headlamp in this pic.
