Since when does anyone need to give a fvkc what the moco thinks in order to enjoy riding and wrenching? Think he should look up where all that moco bling is really made that's all over his ride. After he gets done pounding his pud in front of the mirror. And for God's sakes, take Texas out of his username so he doesn't embarrass the rest of us.

I look forward to waking up and checking this thread every morning! Huge props ct, I'm diggin where this build is headed. Really like the industrial nakedness of it. The art is in the mechanical and moving parts, not in the chrome covers that some bolt on to cover up the good stuff! Keep doin what you're doin, those with good taste and an open mind will appreciate it, and the douchebags will just be douchebags. Such is life. Keep on keepin on!

And thanks for the props in the jockey thread! Means a lot, still not even close to what you're building here, but still a work in progress. Now you've got me eying up my girls Buell, and I'm wondering what parts I could steal off it! I think she'd probably kill me slowly and make sure no one found the body, but might be worth it! Lol.

I am a little concerned this morning. I have to have a guy who knows about primarys and primary offsets look at this set up. I dont really know where to measure from to determine how much offset I need. The chain run from the rear sprocket runs to the outside edge of the stock belt sprocket. If I measure from the inside edge of the stock belt sprocket out to the middleof the chain it is 2 inches!!!!!!!! If I am measuring properly, do they even make a 2" offset kit?? Searching ebay there are a few primary plates over one inch, but the biggest kit is 1". The more you space out a primary, does that have any negative effects on strength of the set up, or reliability???

For a minute I was considering just bolting the stock rear end back on, making it a bobber and calling it a day. Then I would have a boat load of parts to sell!!! Before I make any rash desicions I have to have somebody look at it that actually knows what they are doing.

With that much material, should be more than strong enough. Whatever you use, check the bolt torque after the first ride. I've heard stories of aluminum loosening from temperature expansion, like wheels on cars in cold states, but never seen it happen, but sometimes (ok, rarely) mods like that take a "set" when full pressure hits them, and that can loosen them a little.

it is going to take some custom work to get the chain that far over. my buddy made a chopper, he stacked up 2 sets of 1".then made a trans mount bracket. offsetting the sprocket would put it into the primary cover unless you can clearance it. using a chain automatically makes a lot of extra clearance . the only problem going that far over, is you might run into frame clearance issues. if that happens, you might as well just build a frame from scratch that everything will bolt up to.

personally, my sportbike hybrid days are long over. honestly a fatboy in a sporty platform is going to be disappointing. it will look cool for a while, and be different. but your cb750 will outrun it and outperform it by a mile.and with all the extra weight, you are going to be wrestling it all the way down the street. i would make it a fatboy or custom softail again and ride it. selling all the extra parts you accumulated would pay for some paint or custom wheels.

on second thought, that front end is cool, just put the rest of it back together.
