Help!
I have a 1992 Softail custom. When I push the starter button in clicks. One click each push. Most of the time it starts, somtimes first
try and some times after repeated tries. I thought there was a dead spot in the starter so I replaced it, but no change. It seems to work first time with a full charge, but as the day goes on with stops and starts it gets worse until I need a push. Shop couldn't figure it out.
I like to take two or three day rides and I don't want to get stranded. Any suggestion?

Not sure if your EVO is the same as my buddies Shovel, but he had the same trouble and it was not the starter but thesolinoid that was mounted just above the starter.
Sometimes it would click, others it would stick andthe starter would keep spinning afteryou had let off on the button, even if the engine was running.
I think it was about $10 for the parts to fix it.
