No, I am not going to sell my EVO. Love the old girl and she has a home here forever. BUT.... I fell in love with the Bones when they came out in '08 and just have never found one at the right time. This previous Monday, I stopped by the closest HD dealer to me (High Plains Motor Sports, Cheyenne, WY) and they have TWO on the floor !! Drooled over both: a stock '10 (1500 miles) and an '09 (4001 miles) with 16" apes, RSD pipes, SERT and very clean.
Drove the 100 miles home, thought about it and put a deposit on the '09 on Tuesday (over the phone). Picked it up Wednesday, put about 300 miles on it on the way home and LOVE this frikkin' scoot ! Adjusted the apes about 4 times on the way home and finally got 'em right.
Thought I'd throw up some pics, since I'm locked out of the house anyway. The wife is REALLY not happy, but she'll come around !
Congrats. Never cared for the tractor seat, but I've always liked the Crossbones. Love the look of those apes on it.
I was amazed at how comfortable the seat actually is: WAY more comfortable than my big seat on the EVO. Didn't find myself moving around at all on it. Had to get used to the apes (again). Haven't had apes since the last bike I built 30 years ago. They feel great. Thanks
I have 2 seats for my bones (stock seat and a rally runner seat). Both seats have their ups and downs so I change them depending what mood I'm in. I didn't used to like the stock seat but it grew on me. As you said its surprisingly comfortable and it's also a bit different. Love the bike man! Hope the wife calms down soon lol
