Default Crossbones

Hey all. I have successfully enjoyed my Crossbones for 2.5 years now. I have a 2008 I bought in 10. I was looking at the new Road Glides as they are pretty hot to me but I thought why not make my Crossbones more comfortable for my wife when she does ride and I can keep the bones and the lack of new bike payment.

So I currently have the Crossbones one piece sissy with the low pad on and passeger pillion seat. My question is will the medium low sissy provide a more upright support for her back if I get one and does it lean back like the one piece sissy? I will of course make it quick release to take off when riding solo. So point being I can get a new 2 up seat and medium low sissy for my touring combo when riding 2 up. Thanks for the help. I figure a few quick release parts is cheaper than a new bike payment. Thanks.

Good plan. If you sold off the Crossbones, you'd regret it and have a hard time finding another one.

It kind of depends on if you are going to take your wife on five hundred mile rides or not. For my style of riding the Bones would be perfect, but then I love them anyway, and that alone would make the difference. Same with my 99 Softail Custom. I have a Heritage seat for it, and a tall padded sissy bar. My wife rarely rides over about 20 miles with me anymore anyway. We are both in our 70's and don't tour. I still do solo rides of 2 or 300 miles a day. If I was going to buy a Twin Cam, it would have to be a Bones.

Thanks for the affirmation Jaburg....I do love the thing... It almost killed my back riding from Denver to Sturgis though. I blame the stock seat which I will replace...

Thanks Jim. Well we live in Colorado about 10 minutes from the foothills so an easy day can very well turn into a long day due to the beauty. I am thinking of just getting a sundowner or a corbin touring style seat. Then when not riding two up just strip it back down to the seats. I am sure alot of guys do that. My wife loves to ride but I love the bike so trying to balance the love of that bike with comfort is proving difficult as is....Hence my leaning towards an ugly touring seat for it.... thanks for the reply
