Kind of wondering why you even posted this, really....
What's the big deal?

Considering the nature of these Milwaukee vibrators does this surprise you?

As Blk and Chrome said, "Just fix it and ride it," and while you're at it, make sure everything else is tight on the ride too.

It's called. getting to know your bike.

Every weekend ( after 400 commuting miles during the week,) I go through the bike ( '00 RG,) for loose nuts and bolts. I find a couple every month. Nature of the beast.

But even at 118,000 miles (as of this past week,) it still has never leaked a drop of oil.
And that's WAY different than my '75 Superglide was...

Where would the fun be in that??? People who want maintenance-free bikes should buy Goldwings. Seriously...

About right, we wrenched because we had to because we wanted to and it was what we did .
Now theses bikes don break down like they use to either. No one seems to have the time anymore to sit around on a weekend and mess around with a bike.

It wasn't just the Harleys that used to Leak. Just take a look at some of the old pictures of the roads or if your as old as me remember all the oil that used to collect in the center of the roads. Remember all the Tow truck companys and the cars that used to be stranded along side the highways? Most all vehicles have become alot more reliable nowadays.

I still have the Sportster I bought in '83. It's tight as a drum, mostly stock and hasn't had any real problems in almost 30 years of riding. Regular maintenance with a FSM available and these machines are as reliable as anything out there.

I never would have bought a bike with 43k on it, period. I don't care what make it is. There are to many good deals out there with far less miles on them. Go through the entire bike, front to rear, side to side. It may also have been abused too.
