Flame upper fork sliders fitment advice

Flame upper fork sliders fitment advice
Hi everyone!
Does anyone out there know why Harley-Davidson Flamed Upper Fork Slider Cover 46165-03 should not fit or be made to fit my 2006 flstfi fatboy pls? The instructions say Fits '49-'84 FL and '80-later Touring models but they look just the same as mine. I would love to have these on my bike but thought i would ask you good people for advice on this.

That's exactly what I thought..... I took a chance and bought them for my 09 Fatboy.... as you can see, they fit PERFECT!!!
Bolt holes line up on all the FL's from what I can tell, so I don't know why they say they won't fit a softail, cause they do!!
