Using the H-D bike builder, a FatBoy Lo with detachable bags, backrest and windshield, and a touring passenger pillion will cost approximately 18.6 to roll out the dealership door.
A stock Heritage lists for 17.6 (with all that stuff already on it).
Just something to think about...
I just bought a Fat Boy Lo in August. bike starting price was $17,300. added detachable windshield, passenger pegs, detachable backrest, and luggage rack. price was $19K and no detachable bags yet. that will be another $1K. So you better plan on your price being at $20K to build your fatboy heritage (lol).
but like some have mentioned. i liked the looks of the fatboy and not the heritage. so i was afraid if i bought the heritage i would never be satisfied.
not for sure what the slim would look like all set up for the 2 up riding. i think that is what you are going to have to really look at. if it still gives the look you want, go with the slim. but you will be happy with the low once all your mods are on it.
I appreciate all the replies, I cannot decide between the two (slim or fatboy) No disrespect to you who have them, but the heritage is just not my gig. I really think that I am going to go the fatboy route and not get bags or anything for a while. It is an expensive bike however I think that I am finally done settling.
