So I put my bike in storage yesterday because of Sandy. Was chatting with a couple of guys that have softails- they suggested I go ***** to the wall and go big bore with the 255 cams. If I stay SE it won't impact my warranty... Food for thought
Either way I have six freaking months to decide...
I just found out my warranty expired this past March.. stupid 2 year warranties. I guess it doesn't matter though since I've pretty much ripped the entire bike apart anyways. Im sure something got voided in there.
I went with SE 254E cams for my Deluxe from New Castle HD. Nice to cruise around in the next taller gear and the power climbs to 6k rpm. May be better cams out there but I was happy with them.
Unfortunately I had to do some off roading to avoid an accident so now I'm waiting for a new frame. Good luck on your journey.

How'd you like the 254e cam before you had your off road adventure? BTW you okay?

I think they should've come stock on the bike. Performs better in every way for me both solo and two up. Plus they have an awesome sound Got some brused ribs out of it landing on the left side of my back but I'll make it.
My 26H gives me all the low end grunt...gas mileage didn't suffer too much and i have all the grunt i want even loaded and 2 up...passing power is much better and i see a very big difference going uphill...I think if it helps this much on a FLHTC then on a lower bike it would rock. the power band is where you use it most ...

I have an extened warranty on my heritage so that weighs heavily on whom is going to do the work. I also have a 20% Halloween coupon from a local dealer for parts...will probably run over after work and get the S/E Stage II pro-kit #29893-07A (black jugs). I'll store the parts until the dealer that has my Heritage in storage runs a winter time upgrade special in Jan/Feb.
